“For Storrman” A-10 Panel Art

A painted warthog and a promise to keep going honored downed A-10 pilot Dale Storr on another aircraft from his squadron.

About the Artifact

During Desert Storm, Capt. Dale Storr’s A-10 was shot down, and his fellow Airmen did not know he had survived. On a panel of A-10A 79-0182, an illustrated warthog appeared above the words “FOR STORRMAN / WE’LL NEVER LET UP!” The dedication carries a crew’s resolve during the days their pilot was missing. Storr survived captivity and was released on March 6, 1991. The artist and the date the panel
